Kristin and Ehren held their intimate deCordova wedding on the loveliest of September days. She arrived in the late afternoon, with flowers in her hair, to do her makeup and don her dress. We hadn’t met in person before her wedding day, but my impression of her as a kind and thoughtful person was nearly immediately confirmed. I also discovered that she has a huge smile that frequently turns into a laugh and an energy that draws people to her.

Kristin and Ehren chose to see each other before the ceremony, and then we took some time to explore the grounds together. Photographing at the deCordova is kind of like giving a kid free reign in a candy shop, and photographing this couple was dream – they were just so sweet with each other and open in front of the camera. We made sure to make a photo of the two of them with the classic car sculpture, as one of Ehren’s secret talents is identifying cars just by their headlights.

Kristin’s older brother officiated the ceremony, which included readings by Julia Child, Rilke, Steinbeck. Kristin and Ehren are both writers, and the personal vows they exchanged provoked both laughter and a few tears. Everyone then enjoyed cocktail hour on the terrace as the sun set, before moving in to the museum for dinner and dancing. The wrong song was accidentally queued up for their first dance, and I love how they laughed through it until they got the right song going.

Kristin and Ehren – thank you so much for allowing me to document this joyous day for you.
