I was instantly smitten with Nick and Chelley when they e-mailed me earlier this year about photographing their wedding. How could I not be when they started by telling me that “family and friends mean a heckuvalot to us,” continued by mentioning their love of ice cream, cooking and exploring new places, and ended with the simple statement “we’re goofy.”

Nick and Chelley met five years ago at a weekly meeting of the MIT Israeli Folk Dance Club, so at their engagement session I encouraged them to dance in the brilliant autumn sunshine. They also recounted their sweet and romantic engagement story, involving a giggly proposal at a rain drenched James Taylor concert at Tanglewood. These two are energetic and vivacious and light each other up. They also pride themselves on throwing great parties – so I can’t wait to document their wedding festivities next May.
