On Martha’s Vineyard, down a dirt road, through a canopy of trees and their dappled light, around a curve and past an open field, you will find the home Emily’s grandparents built. The summer house where her family has been gathering for more than 30 years, with group photos lining the walls to prove it. And in the backyard is a flagpole, under which her mother and father, and aunt and uncle, got married. And where she got married, too. This is the story of Emily and Dave’s intimate and relaxed backyard wedding on one of the hottest days in July.
