When I arrived at the Pierce House to photograph Jen getting ready, she asked how Jason was doing. I mentioned that he’d been cracking jokes non-stop, and she said that was a sign of nerves. Perhaps heightening the nerves, they didn’t do a first look, and instead shared the big reveal moment with all of their guests. Their ease around each other, visibly relaxing once they could hold hands, was so sweet. The lawn and gardens of the Pierce House was a beautiful setting for the late afternoon ceremony, with the arbor built by Jason’s father serving as the backdrop. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we did some family and couples portraits. The reception tent had a wonderful warm glow from all the string lights. In addition to the standard first dance, toasts to the couple and cake cutting, there was a special toast of Schlitz in honor and memory of a grandfather. And once the Lisa Love Experience got started, guests young and old were grooving non-stop on the dance floor.
