When I first chatted with Esther and Jake, they described themselves as ambitious (Jake works in intelligence, and Esther is an Olympic gold-medal rower) but laid-back. They are also clearly very excited to be getting married, and are planning for a fun and relaxed celebration on the Cape this September. These two currently live in DC, where they enjoy building things together, cooking, going on adventures (exploring their hometown, hiking in Shenandoah, visiting local wineries) and spending time with their 18-month-old puppy. They both have ties to Massachusetts too – Jake grew up on the Cape, and Esther is a Harvard grad. On a recent evening, we met up for their engagement session at Harvard’s Weld Boathouse and then strolled along the Charles River.
